I. Different Walks

Romans 8:29 - “For those whom He foreknew, He also predestined to become conformed to the image of His Son…”

2 Corinthians 5:20 - “We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors,as though God were making his appeal through us…”

Genesis 6:9 – “…Noah was a righteous man, blameless in his time; Noah walked with God.”

Micah 6:8 – “…what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?”

Ephesians 4:1 – “Therefore I, the prisoner of the Lord, implore you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling with which you have been called.”

Ephesians 5:8 – “You were formerly darkness, but now you are Light in the Lord; walk as children of Light.”

Psalm 119:105 – “Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.”

Galatians 5:16   “…walk by the Spirit, and you will not carry out the desire of the flesh.”

1. Discipline

Hebrews 12:6 - “For the Lord disciplines the one He loves, and chastises every son whom he receives.”

 2. Death

1 Corinthians 11:29-30 – “For anyone who eats and drinks without discerning the body eats and drinks judgment on himself.  That is why many of you are weak and ill, and some have died.”

 3. Denial

Matthew 7:22-23 – “Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles?’  And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness.’ ”

II. Different Cities

Hebrews 11:13-16 – “These all died in faith, not having received the things promised, …having acknowledged that they were strangers and exiles on the earth.

For people who speak thus make it clear that they are seeking a homeland….they desire a better country, that is, a heavenly one.

Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God, for He has prepared for them a city.”

III. Different Futures

Revelation 21:3 – “And I heard a loud voice from the throne, saying, ‘Behold, the tabernacle of God is among men, and He will dwell among them, and they shall be His people, and God Himself will be among them.’ ”

 Faith Sheet

Transformation Verse - Do not judge according to appearance, but judge with righteous judgment.”   John 7:24

Main Point: Knowing Christ and following His teachings mean that we will have a very different walk (lifestyle) than the world, a very different family to enjoy, and a very different future after our hearts stop beating.

1 Thess. 5:4-6 – “But you, brethren, are not in darkness, that the day would overtake you like a thief; for you are all sons of light and sons of day. We are not of night nor of darkness; so then let us not sleep as others do, but let us be alert and sober.”
