A. W. Tozer – “What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us.”

I. The Trinity is the one true God who eternally exists as three
distinct persons, as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, who are each
   fully and equally God.

II. Knowing and Treasuring the True God

     1. Knowing God as Father

James 1:17-18 – “Every good thing given and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no changing…. He brought us forth by the word of truth, so that we would be a kind of first fruits among His creatures.”

John Owen – “The greatest sorrow and unkindness that you can lay on the Father is not to believe that he loves you.

So long as the Father is seen as harsh and condemning the heart is filled with fear and dread every time it comes to Him….but when God is seen as Father, filled with love, the soul is filled with love toward God in return.

Many saints have no greater burden in their lives than that their hearts do not constantly delight and rejoice in God. There is a resistance in walking close with God.

Set your heart on the eternal love of God toward you and see if your heart is not aroused to delight in Him.”

      2. Knowing Jesus as Redeemer

1 Corinthians 6:19-20 – “….you are not your own….For you have been bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body.”

     3. Knowing the Spirit as the empowering Presence in my life

John 14:16-17 – “I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Counselor to be with you forever - the Spirit of truth….. He lives with you and will be in you.”

III. Resembling and reflecting the Trinity

#1- Reviewing This Past Sunday
Restoration: The Trinity For Today, Part 2
John 17:13-26

1. Read Matthew 3:13-17 and John 17:13-26. What do you notice
about the Triune God and His people that can greatly affect our
    daily lives?
2. Our worldview answers questions like: How did it all begin?
What went wrong? What is the solution? Is there hope after
death? Look at the five major views of creation and discuss
some implications of each for our daily lives.
3. Read Acts 2:40-47. How was the character, love, unity, and
purpose of the Triune God displayed in the early church? How
    can this be true today?
4. Pray for us to understand what it means to be under the care,
protection, and ownership of the Triune God.

 # 2- Preparing for Next Sunday
Restoration: Singleness for Today
1 Corinthians 7:8-11, 25-40

1. Read 1 Corinthians 7:8-11, 25-40. What principles are given to
    single Christians in this passage?
2. Compare and contrast the principles given to singles in 1
Corinthians 7 with the ones in Matthew 19:10-12 and in
Genesis 2:18. Discuss with a friend or your small group why
Paul would give these principles to single Christians.
3. Discuss how married and single Christians can relate well in the
church. How can singles encourage married Christians? How can
    married Christians encourage singles?
4. Pray for this week’s service.
