I. Godly wisdom
     1. Is skillfully living out God’s truth

Matthew 7:24 - “Therefore everyone who hears these words of Mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock.”

     2. Comes through knowing Jesus Christ

1 Corinthians 1:24 - “…Christ is the power of God and the wisdom of God.”

     3. Is continually available to all God’s people

Ephesians 3:10 – “The manifold wisdom of God might now be made known through the church to the rulers and the authorities in the heavenly places.”

     4. Increases as we are filled with the Holy Spirit

Acts 6:3 – “…select from among you seven men of good reputation, full of the Spirit and of wisdom, whom we may put in charge of this task.”

     5. Is a gift which can be cultivated

Proverbs 2:2-6 – “Tune your ears to wisdom… Cry out for insight, and ask for understanding. …seek (wisdom) like hidden treasures. Then you will understand what it means to fear the LORD, and you will gain knowledge of God. For the LORD grants wisdom! From his mouth come knowledge and understanding.”

II. Applications
     1. Godly wisdom is confirmed through a Christ-like lifestyle.
     2. Human wisdom is earthly, fleshly, and demonic.
     3. Human wisdom causes every type of problem.
     4. The core of wisdom is the heart.

Jeremiah 17:9 – “The heart is more deceitful than all else and is desperately sick; Who can understand it?”

Luke 8:15 – “Jesus said, ‘But the seed in the good soil, these are the ones who have heard the word in an honest and good heart, and hold it fast, and bear fruit with perseverance.’”

 Faith Sheet

Transformation Verse - Jesus said, “You will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses…” Acts 1:8

Main Themes:
~ Godly wisdom means we are becoming skilled in applying God’s truth to daily life.
~ Worldly wisdom often sounds good at first, but it will eventually lead to every kind of problem because it is not from the living God.
