United in the Gospel: God Keeps His Promises

Romans 11

8-9-20

 

 

John 15:7-8 – “Jesus said, ‘If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. By this my Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit and so prove to be my disciples.’”

I. Be Confident. (Romans 11:1-6)

 

1.    The unfaithful are made faithful. (Paul)

2.    The unknown is known. (Elijah)

3.    The uncertain is certain. (Gentiles)

 

 

II. Be Aware. (Romans 11:11-19)

 

1.    Make Israel jealous.

2.    Proclaim God’s Kingdom.

 

Revelation 7:4, 9-10 – “(There were) 144,000, sealed from every tribe of Israel…then behold, a great multitude that no one could number, from every nation, saying…'Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!’”

Revelation 14:4-5 – “(They)…are virgins…who follow the Lamb wherever He goes….and in their mouth no lie was found, for they are blameless.”

Genesis 12:3 – “… in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.”

 

III. Be Amazed. (Romans 11:33-36)

 

Ephesians 1:7-8 – “In Him we have redemption…and forgiveness…according to the riches of his grace, which He lavished upon us…”

Ephesians 3:20-21 – “Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to Him be glory…forever. Amen”

 

 

 

 

 

Monthly Transformation Verse: Romans 10:9 – “If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.”

Weekly Transformation Verse: Romans 11:36 – “For from Him and through Him and to Him are all things. To Him be glory forever. Amen”

Going Deeper This Week

1. Read Romans 11. What do you most appreciate about God?

2. Read 2 Corinthians 1:20 and Philippians 1:20. Why will God for sure keep His promises?

3. Share the definition of God’s grace with someone. Now explain what you appreciate about your salvation in Jesus Christ.

4. What impact will the Israelite’s future salvation and restoration have on the world and when will this occur? (Revelation 7:4-10)

5. Read Romans 11:11. What is one reason you were saved? How could that truth look in your daily life? (See also Proverbs 4:18, Matthew 5:14, Ephesians 5:1 and Philippians 2:15)
