Isaiah 49

December 29, 2019

 1. Chosen to be His servant. (Isaiah 49:1)

John 15:16 – “Jesus said, ‘You did not choose me, but I chose you…’”

 2. Chosen to serve effectively. (Isaiah 49:2)

John 15:16 – “Jesus said, ‘You did not choose me, but I chose you…that you should go and bear fruit…’”

 3. Chosen to be cared for while serving. (Isaiah 49:2)

John 6:37 – “Jesus said, ‘All that the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never cast out.’”

4. Chosen to serve for God’s glory. (Isaiah 49:3)

John 15:8 – “Jesus said, ‘By this my Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit and so prove to be my disciples.’”

5. Chosen to endure in serving. (Isaiah 49:4)

John 15:19 – “Jesus said, ‘…I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.’”

John 15:13 – “Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends.”

6. Chosen to make Him known. (Isaiah 49:5-7)

John 15:26-27 – “…when the Helper comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth…He will bear witness about me. And you also will bear witness…”

7. Chosen to experience much joy. (Isaiah 49:8-13)

John 15:11 – “Jesus said, ‘These things I have spoken to you, that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be full.’”

2 Timothy 2:10 – “…I endure everything for the sake of the chosen ones, to…obtain the salvation that is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory.”
