Genesis 24-26

I. An Attractive Woman. (Genesis 24:15-16a)

James 1:17 – “Every goodandperfect gift is from above…from the Father of lights…”

Song of Songs 1:15 – “How beautiful you are, my darling!"

Proverbs 6:25 – “Do not desire her beauty in your heart, and do not let her capture you with her eyelashes.”

Proverbs 31:30 – “Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.”

Ezekiel 28:17 – “Your heart was proud because of your beauty; you corrupted your wisdom for the sake of your splendorI exposed you…”

1 Timothy 2:9 – “…women should adorn themselves in respectable apparel, with modesty…”

1 Peter 3:3-4 – “Do not let your adorning be external…let your (beauty) be the hidden person of the heart …”

1 Samuel 16:7 – “Do not look at (mere) appearance…For…man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.”

Psalm 139:14 – “I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully mademy soul knows it very well.”

II. A Woman That Serves. (Genesis 24:16-21, 25)

John 13:3-5 – “Jesus, knowing that the Father had given all things into his hands…that he had come from God and was going back to God laid aside his outer garments…(took) a towel, tied it around his waist…poured water into a basin and began to wash the disciples' feet and to wipe them with the towel that was wrapped around him.”

Luke 12:37 – “Jesus said, ‘Blessed are those servants whom the master finds awake when he comes…he will dress himself for service and have them recline at table, and he will come and serve them.’”

III.  A Woman of Faith. (Genesis 24:50-59)

Hebrews 11:6 – “Without faith it is impossible to please God.”

Romans 10:17 – “Faith comes by hearing… through the word of Christ.”

IV. A Woman of Favor and Influence. (Genesis 24:60-61)

“Favor”- God’s gift of acceptance, presence and demonstrated kindness.

Genesis 26:34-35

Psalm 34:5 – “Those who look to (Christ) are radiant…”
