I. Disgracing God’s Name

Jeremiah 7:8-11 - Behold, you are trusting in deceptive words to no avail.  Will you steal, murder, and commit adultery and swear falsely, and offer sacrifices to Baal and walk after other gods that you have not known, then come and stand before Me in this house, which is called by My name, and say, 'We are delivered!'—that you may do all these abominations?  Has this house, which is called by My name, become a den of robbers in your sight?...

II. Deserting God’s mission

Isaiah 56:6-7 - Also the foreigners who join themselves to the Lord, To minister to Him, and to love the name of the Lord, To be His servants…., Even those I will bring to My holy mountain And make them joyful in My house of prayer…For My house will be called a house of prayer for all the peoples.

III. Damaging the poor/needy

Ezekiel 16:49-50 - Now this was the sin of your sister Sodom: She and her daughters were arrogant, overfed and unconcerned; they did not help the poor and needy. They were haughty and did detestable things before me...

IV. Deciding to ignore judgment

1.    Barricade

2.    Surround you

3.    Hem you in

4.    Level you to the ground and your children

5.    Not leave one stone on another

Transformation Verse - Jesus spoke, "Of those whom You have given Me I lost not one."  (John 18:9)

Times with the Lord this week - If you have extra time, look up the cross references with the Transformation Scripture.

#1 - Reviewing this Past Sunday

What Makes Jesus Weep (Luke 19:41-48)

1. Read Luke 19:41-48.  Discuss Sunday’s message with someone.

2. When is the last time you grieved over someone’s sin and it led you to pray fervently for the person?

3. What has caused you to be righteously angry lately?

4. What does this text show me to appreciate about God?

5. Pray for others and yourself using the text?

#2 - Preparing for Next Sunday

Fathering with a Vision (Judges 13)

1. What is the most difficult thing you have ever built?  Did it have an instruction book?  Would it have been more difficult to assemble the project without the instructions?

2. Parents and future parents: What would you say the main goal of parenting is?  How do you actively carry that out or plan to carry that out?

3. Read and review Judges 13-16 (summarize for children), the story of Samson.  What do you notice about his father?

4. Pray that our hearts would be open to hearing the truths of God’s plan for raising children this Sunday.
