Our Persecuted Brothers and Sisters

In this country and across the world our family members face daily struggles with violence, humiliation, starvation and even death. This video from North Korea reminds me to remember our persecuted family in prayer and to ask God what He would desire from us.

A couple of truths ring louder with me today:

"If you are insulted because of the name of Christ, you are blessed, for the Spirit of glory and of God rests on you.  If you suffer, it should not be as a murderer or thief or any other kind of criminal, or even as a meddler.  However, if you suffer as a Christian, do not be ashamed, but praise God that you bear that name." (1 Peter 4:14-16 NIV)

"If anyone is ashamed of me and my words, the Son of Man will be ashamed of him when he comes in his glory and in the glory of the Father and of the holy angels." (Luke 9:26 NIV)

May the Lord give us strength to pray, be distinct and to never be ashamed of Him or His Gospel - no matter the cost.
