I.  God’s eternal and steadfast covenant love is the answer to
calloused and compromising hearts. (Malachi 1:1-5, 2:4-5,
    8,10,14, 3:1)

II. God’s eternal and steadfast covenant love is the ultimate
motivation for us to trust Him and to grow in continual
    godliness. (Eph. 4:1, 17-32, Col. 3:12-17)

    1. Eternal and Steadfast

Hebrews 13:20– “Now the God of peace, who brought up from the
dead the great Shepherd of the sheep through the blood of the eternal covenant, even Jesus our Lord.”

Isaiah 49:15-16 – “Can a woman forget her nursing child and have no compassion on the son of her womb? Even these may forget, but I will not forget you.  Behold, I have inscribed you on the palms of My hands….”

John 10:27-28– “My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me; and I give eternal life to them, and they will never perish; and no one will snatch them out of My hand.”

John 20:27-28– He said to Thomas, “Reach here with your finger, and see My hands…. do not be unbelieving, but believing.” Thomas answered and said to Him, “My Lord and my God!”

Revelation 19:7-9– “Let us rejoice and be glad and give the glory to Him, for the marriage of the Lamb has come… Blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb.”

     2. Unmerited and Undeserved

Deuteronomy 32:9-10   Page # 219
Deuteronomy 7:7-11
Deuteronomy 9:4-7

Romans 11:17–…”some of the branches (Israelites) were broken off, and you (Gentiles), being a wild olive, were grafted in among them and became partaker with them of the rich root of the olive tree.”

III. God’s eternal and steadfast covenant love is meant to greatly
      impact our daily lives.

     1. Satisfaction

Psalm 90:14–Satisfy us in the morning with Your lovingkindness, that we may sing for joy and be glad all our days.”

     2. Humility

1 Corinthians 1:27-31–God chose what is foolish in the world to shame the wise . . . so that no human being might boast in the presence of God. . . Let the one who boasts, boast in the Lord.”

     3. Confidence

John 6:37–Jesus said, “All that the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never cast out.”

     4. Encouragement

Colossians 3:12-13 –So, as those who have been chosen of God, holy and beloved, put on a heart of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience…forgiving each other...”

Romans 8:31-33 –If God is for us, who can be against us? . . . Who shall bring any charge against God’s elect?”

John 15:16 –Jesus said, “You did not choose Me but I chose you, and appointed you that you would go and bear fruit, and that your fruit would remain, so that whatever you ask of the Father in My name He may give to you.”

2 Timothy 2:10–For this reason I endure all things for the sake of those who are chosen, so that they also may obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus and with it eternal glory.”

Romans 11:11–I say then, they (Israel) did not stumble so as to fall, did they? May it never be! But by their transgression salvation has come to the Gentiles, to make them jealous.”

Titus 1:1–Paul, a bond-servant of God and an apostle of Jesus Christ, for the faith of those chosen of God and the knowledge of the truth which is according to godliness.”
