Hillary Clinton“I did not send any classified emails…”
“I did not knowingly send any classified emails….”
“I did not send all the emails that were sent from my computer...”

Donald Trump "People are so shocked when they find ... out I am Protestant. I am Presbyterian. And I go to church and I love God and I love my church…"

Asked if he has ever asked God for forgiveness for his actions:
"I am not sure I have. I just go on and try to do a better job from there… I think if I do something wrong… I just try and make it right. I don't bring God into that picture…."

Psalm 32:3-4 – “When I kept silent about my sin, my body wasted away through my groaning all day long. For day and night Your hand was heavy upon me; my vitality was drained away….”

Romans 7:24 – “Wretched man that I am! Who will set me free from the body of this death?”

Matthew 26:75 – “And Peter remembered the word which Jesus had said, ‘Before a rooster crows, you will deny Me three times.’ And he went out and wept bitterly.”

Matthew 5:1-4

The “humbled” accept that we are destitute and helpless except for the Lord Jesus Christ.

“Mourn” (penthéō) – Severe brokenness, grieving, sorrow (so severe that it takes over a person and cannot be hidden).

Faith Sheet

Main Themes
~ Worldly sorrow is disliking the consequences of our sins, but not turning
away from our sin, nor regretting that we hurt God’s name.
~ To have Godly sorrow is to confess and turn away from sin and turn to
Christ. Godly sorrow is concerned about hurting others and God’s
   reputation.

#1- Reviewing this Past Sunday
Joyful are those with Godly Sorrow
Matthew 5:1-4 and 2 Corinthians 7:5-11

1. Read Matthew 5:1-4, and 2 Corinthians 7:5-11.
2. Discuss Sunday’s message with someone.
3. What problems does “worldly sorrow” (instead of Godly sorrow and
repentance) bring to a relationship, home, or a church?
4. How do we assist one another to walk in Godly sorrow that leads to
repentance without guilt? (James 5:16, Ephesians 4:25, and Galatians
    6:1-2)
5. Read Psalm 51. Use it as a prayer of confession and praise.

     # 2- Preparing for Next Sunday
Joyful are the Gentle
Matthew 5:1-5

1. Read Matthew 5:1-5.
2. Read James 3:13-18. Where do jealousy and selfish ambition come from
and what is the result? How have you seen these negative traits in
someone’s heart lead to disorder and division?
3. Read 1 Peter 2:23 and Romans 12:19-21. How does looking at Christ’s
example cause us to respond in gentleness? How does Christ enable us
    to respond to our enemies?
4. Read Psalms 37:1-11. How does understanding God’s character lead us
to respond to life situations with gentleness rather than vengeance or
    anxiety? Pray!
