Ephesians 5:18 - “Be filled with the Holy Spirit…”
Colossians 3:16 - “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly…”
II. Put on the new self. (Galatians 5:19-21, 24)
1. Sensual sins- Living for earthly pleasures over God’s pleasures.
2. Spirit-realm sins- Living for “spiritual” substitutes over the indwelling Holy Spirit.
3. Social sins- Living to please people over the Lord.
Ephesians 4:21-24 - “…you were taught in Him…to put off your old self…your former manner of life …and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds… and put on the new self, created after the likeness of God…”
Romans 12:1-2 - “…present your bodies as a living sacrifice… Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind...”
Titus 2:11-12 -“For the grace of God has appeared… training us to renounceungodliness and worldly passions…to live…godly lives in the present age.”
III. Bear much fruit. (Galatians 5:22-26)
John 15:7-8 - “Jesus said, ‘If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. By this my Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit and so prove to be my disciples.’”
