Main Truths:
God the Father made a promise and kept it. He sent His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, to rescue us from the kingdom of darkness and to deliver us into the kingdom of Light. By the power of the Holy Spirit, we who believe in Jesus Christ are forgiven of our sins, and God’s Spirit now dwells in us. (John 1:12-13, Colossians 1:9-14, and 1 Cor. 3:16)
#1- Reviewing This Past Sunday
The Story: “The Rescue”
Matthew 28:1-10
1. Read Matthew 28:1-10 and discuss with someone.
2. In all of history there is no one like Jesus Christ. What would
you say to someone following a false religion concerning the
difference between trusting in the sufficiency of Jesus and
trying to perform religious works to get approval from God?
3. God planned our rescue before time began, made arrangements
for it to happen, and let nothing stop Him in purchasing us for
Himself. What value does that give to His people?
4. How are we now to live since God kept His promise? (Romans
6:1-23)
5. Why is it important to know God’s story in our daily lives and
also in sharing the Gospel effectively with others?
6. Pray for someone to accept God’s story!
# 2- Preparing for Next Sunday
The Story: “The Restoration”
Revelation 21:1-9, 22-27
1. Why do you think there is a universal desire for “happily ever
after”?
2. Imagine seeing the Lord Jesus Christ face to face and hearing
him say, “Welcome into the joy of your Master.” What can
meditating on this truth do for our daily lives?
3. Read Revelation 21 and describe what the future will look like
for God’s people.
4. What does verse 5 mean for you and your life right now?
5. Praise Him and pray that God would use us in making
everything new.
