Esther 4:1-17

Prophets and Kings: “For Such a Time as This” Esther 4:1-17
I. Know the Lord is always present. (Esther 4:1-7)

II. Embrace your opportunities and GO for God’s glory. (Esther 4:8-17)

How to embrace your opportunities from God:

1. Be aware. (Verse 1)

2. Express emotion. (Verse 1)

3. Be an example. (Verse 3)

4. Inform others. (Verses 7-8)

5. Encourage others to join you. (Verses 13-14)

6. Pray. (Verse 16)

7. Trust. (Verse 16)

8. Obey. (Verse 17)

1. What are some events that cause us to question God’s care for the world and people? Share a circumstance that may have caused you to have this kind of questioning.

2. What are some indications that God’s people were seeking Him, even though He seemed absent? (Psalm 34:18, 46:1, 145:18; Deuteronomy 4:7; James 4:8; Colossians 1:17; Hebrews 1:3)

3. How is the story of Esther similar to many believers throughout the world today? Can you name a person or people who helped shape the world because of their actions in the midst of adversity?

4. Can you think of a time when you felt you were put somewhere “for such a time as this” to do God’s will?

5. What are some aspects of your past that you’ve seen God use to make you more effective in serving Him? How did/are you serving Him because of these past experiences?
