The Promised Land: “When God Speaks”

           1 Samuel 3:1 - 4:1          

I. Be prepared to receive God’s Word. (1 Samuel 3:1-10)

1. GET alone, get quiet, breathe, and be still.   (Psalm46:10)

2. ASK the Lord to reveal Himself and His truth.   (Psalm 25:4-5)

3. FEAST on God’s Word and listen to others. (Jeremiah 15:16, Proverbs 15:22)

4. PRAY using the Word.   (1 John 5:14)    

5. APPLY what you heard from the Lord. (James 1:22)

6. SHARE the truth with others. (Ephesians 4:15) 

7. INTENTIONALLY invest God’s truth into a few people so they will l love God, love others and make disciples.   (1 Thessalonians 2:8, Psalm 119:99)

II. Be prepared to hear whatever God says.       (1 Samuel 3: 11-14, Proverbs 28:23)

III. Be prepared to GO deliver God’s message to others.    (1 Samuel  3:15-4:1)

 Luke 8:21 - “Jesus replied, ‘My mother and brothers are those who hear God's word and put it into practice.’”

 1. What was the last word God spoke to you through the Bible and what did you do with it?

2. Discuss the value of asking one another - “What had God said to you lately from His word? and “What are you doing about it?”

3. What does it look like when God is speaking and a church is listening? A family?

4. What are some ways you are being faithful in delivering God’s Word to others? In what ways would you like to grow?

5. Read the following scriptures concerning God’s word and discuss and then pray using scripture. (2 Peter 1:20-21, Acts 17:2, John 5:39, 8:31-32, 17:17, Hebrews 1:1-4, 4:12, Romans 1:16, 15:4, Acts 17:11, 2 Timothy 2:15, 3:16-17, 2 Corinthians 1:20, Romans 12:1-2, Psalm 119:105, & Psalm 1).
