Reviewing This Past Sunday

God Delivers: The Redeemer Reveals His Glory

Exodus 5:1-9

 1. When have you recently had trouble while trying to do the right thing? What was your response?

2. Why do you think so many assume obedience leads to ease and comfort instead of difficulty and resistance?

3. Why is it easy to put our trust in things we can see (people, money, homes, etc.)?

4. Why is it more difficult to rely on the One who is invisible?

5. When was the last time you were discouraged by God’s timing or lack of intervention in a difficult situation and what truths about God helped you through this time?

6. What would you say to someone who said, “Who is Jesus that I should obey Him? I do not know anything about Jesus?”

Isaiah 43:1 - “…Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine.”

Preparing for Next Sunday

God Delivers: The Redeemer and His Passover

Exodus 12:1-13

 1. Read the passage and ask the Lord to reveal Himself and His truth. (Exodus 12:1-13)

2. HIGHLIGHT a verse or truth that stands out to you and write it out.

3. EXPLAIN the text in your own words to make sure you see the big picture of God’s Story. (Who wrote it and why was it written? To whom it was written? What is the context? How does the text point to the Father, Son or Spirit? What is the text telling us about our new identity as believers in Christ or how we are to live?)

4. APPLY a truth from the text to your own life. (Focus on what God is saying to you and what is your act of obedience, confession, praise, giving thanks, etc.)

5. RESPOND in prayer and go apply what God reveals to you from the Scriptures.

Gospel Project – “There is one dominant theme in the plagues: You shall know that I am the Lord (see Exodus 7:17; 8:10,22; 9:14,16,29; 10:2). God let everyone know that He alone is God. We must not miss this overarching theme during all the details of the plagues. God’s passion is to be known and worshiped.”
