Exodus 13:17-22

 I. God is worthy of praise for His guidance. (Exodus 13:17-22)

 Truths about God’s Guidance:

 1. God always guides His people through any trial. (Exodus 13:17, 18, 21-22)

Matthew 28:20

John 16:13-14

 3. God always guides His people despite our wanderings. (Exodus 13:17, 22)

Nehemiah 9:17

 3. God always guides His people even when they are not fully equipped.                (Exodus 13:18, 21-22)

 Ephesians 4:15-16

II. God is worthy of praise for His glory. (Exodus 14:1-14)

We are reminded this is God’s story, not Israel’s (Exodus 14:13-14)

III. God is worthy of praise for His deliverance. (Exodus 14:21-31)

1. God delivers by His means. (Exodus 14:30)

2. God delivers in His timing.

 3. Christ delivers.

Reviewing This Past Sunday

God Delivers: “Worthy of Praise”

Exodus 13:17-22

 1. What is your favorite song of all time? What genre of music do you prefer over others, why?

2. Read Exodus 15:1-18. How is God depicted in the song? What imagery is used? How are the Israelites described in the song? What effect will God’s actions in the song have on other nations?

3. Why is it sometimes difficult to trust in God’s guidance? (Exodus 13:17-22)

4. When have you been able to look back at your life and see the guiding hand of the Holy Spirit?

5. How does looking at God’s guidance in the past increase your confidence in His future guidance?

6. How is God’s glory shown in unusual strategies for victory? (Exodus 14:1-14)

7. Why is it important that we give all glory and praise to God for His salvation rather than thinking we have contributed something? (Exodus 14:21-31)

Preparing for Next Sunday

God Delivers: The Wilderness Test

Exodus 17:1-7

1. Read Exodus 17:1-7 and ask the Lord to reveal Himself and His truth.

2. HIGHLIGHT a verse or truth that stands out to you and write it out.

3. EXPLAIN the text in your own words to make sure you see the big picture of God’s Story. (Who wrote it & why? To whom it was written? What is the context? How does the text point to the Father, Son or Spirit? What is the text telling us about our new identity as believers in Christ or how we are to live?)

4. APPLY a truth from the text to your own life. (Focus on what God is saying to you and what is your act of obedience, confession, prayer, praise, giving thanks, etc.)

5. RESPOND in prayer and go apply what God reveals to you from the Scriptures.
