Matthew 14:22-33

Stories and Signs: “God is Sovereign Over Storms”

Matthew 14:22-33

I. The Lord leads His people into storms. (Matthew 14:22)

II. The Lord calls for obedience that often causes storms. (Matthew 14:22)

III. The Lord prays for us in our storms. (Matthew 14:23)

IV.  The Lord comes to us in deeper ways in our storms. (Matthew 14:24-25)

Mark 6:48 - “In Mark’s Gospel account of the storm battering the disciples, he mentions that Jesus ‘saw that they were making headway painfully, for the wind was against them.’”

  • Safer in the boat than in the crowd!
  • Safer in His will than in their own!
  • Cannot judge God based on storms!

V. The Lord calls us to live courageously in the storm. (Matthew 14:26-31) 

VI. The Lord refines us in the storms. (Matthew 14:28-31)

VII. The Lord calls us to worship Him in the storm.  (Matthew 14:32-33
