II. Jesus overcomes obstacles. (Luke 19:5)

1. Compassion - Matthew 9:36

2. Identity

II. Jesus pursues the sinner. (Luke 19:6-8)

1. He has authored salvation - Hebrews 2:10, 5:9, 12:2

IV. Jesus celebrates repentance and salvation. (Luke 19:9-10)

  1. Zephaniah 3:17, Psalm 16:11
  2. We celebrate with Christ as we go and share the gospel.

Faith Sheet

1. When have you recently felt distant from Jesus?

2. In what ways did you attempt to be near Him?

3. Discuss a time when you felt Jesus brought you near to Him.

4. Make a list of people that need Christ. Pray for them, asking Jesus to draw them near to Him.

5. How could you, like Jesus, invite them into your life?

6. Pray for the opportunity and plan for time this week to show compassion to those who are lost.

7. Read Luke 19:1-10 with someone this week. Celebrate that Jesus has come to seek and save the lost.
