Exodus 12:1-32

But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ. He Himself is our peace …having abolished in His flesh …the law of commandments…… Ephesians 2:13-15

- What are your memories of celebrating “Easter” or “Resurrection” Sunday when you were growing up?
- If someone asked you this week what is the difference between Christianity and the world religions, what would be your response?
- Why might some people say that Christianity is a bloody and archaic faith? What would be your response?
II. Overview of Scripture
- Read Exodus 12:1-32. What strikes you as something the Lord really wants us to know?
- Read Matthew 27:57-20 and discuss the resurrection account with someone.
- Who came to the death site, when and why? Vs 57
- What is another reason he went to the death site and what does this say about his faith? Vs 58-60
- What is the significance of 60 and the stone?
- Who watched the burial and why is it important for Matthew to publicly list their names? Vs 61
- Who went to Pilate after Jesus’ death, why and what did they label Jesus? Vs 62-64
- What is important about verses 65-66 to us today?
- Review Sunday’s message with someone.
- Read John 8:34-45. Why do people NOT believe in the resurrection of Jesus no matter how much “proof” we give them? What does this say about our role in evangelism and God’s role in evangelism?
- Read Genesis 9:6 and discuss how important a man’s blood really is. Why is this?
- In most private offerings the person killed his own sacrifice. Public sacrifices were slain by the priests. The animal was always killed in a violent way, usually by splitting the throat with a sharp knife. The death had to be inflicted clearly as a consequence of its sacrificial purpose. Why is this Old Testament symbolism important? See Isaiah 53:7 and Acts
- What difference does Christ’s resurrection make in your daily life?
- Pray for one another/for someone you know who does not yet know Christ.
