I. Jesus’ pattern of discipling others.
Discipleship is the process of assisting someone to know Christ and grow in Christ.
1. Be with them
Having so fond an affection for you, we were well-pleased to impart to you not only the gospel of God but also our own lives, because you had become very dear to us. 1 Thessalonians. 2:8 (NASB)
A. Time
B. Watching & Listening
The way of an eagle in the sky, The way of a serpent on a rock, The way of a ship in the middle of the sea, And the way of a man with a maid. Proverbs 30:19 (NASB)
C. Engagement with Christ
2. Have them watch you
A. Heart
B. Lifestyle
3. Equip with how & why
A. Intentional & Specific
B. Encourage thinking
4. Let them do it
A. Early as possible
B. Encourage obedience, not results
5. Send them out & evaluate
A. Feedback
B. Releasing is crucial
C. Dependence upon God is the goal
