I.       General Truths:

1. Prayer is communing with God by listening & speaking with Him. 

Make me know Your ways, O Lord; Teach me Your paths. Lead me in Your truth and teach
me, For You are the God of my salvation; For You I wait all the day. Psalm 25:4-5 (NASB)   

2.  This prayer is God’s prescribed pattern for worship & maturity.  

 

II.      This prayer of Worship & Dependence focuses on:

1. Knowing God as “our Father”

2.  God’s Glory      

A.“hallowed be your name” – May Your NAME be honored.

B. “your kingdom come” – May Your REIGN be complete & universal

3. Our Dependence

A. “give us each day our daily bread” – Needed to live for You

If we have food and covering, with these we shall be content.   1 Timothy 6:8 (NASB) 

B. “forgive us our sins for we forgive everyone who is indebted to us” –  Cleanse us from daily defilement as we release others.

C. “lead us not into temptation” – Keep us from hurting Your name

4.    Our Persistence

A. God’s character & promises

B. Increasing intensity

C. Seeking abundance
