FAMILY FAITH SHEET

{For growth & prayer}

 Monday

  1. Read Luke 12:35-48 & discuss Sunday’s message with someone.
  2. Extra (If you have time) Read 1 Thess. 5:1-11. Share with someone what truths you see in this passage & what type of people we are to be as “children of the light”.

 Tuesday

  1. Read Psalm 37:7-8. What needs to be part of waiting on the Lord for “waiting” to be most effective?
  2. What does “waiting” have to do with not fretting or getting angry?
  3. In verses 9 & 34 there is a contrast & a promise that all believers need to know. Summarize it in your own words.
  4. Read Isaiah 40:28-31. What are the benefits of “waiting” on the Lord?

Wednesday - Preparing for this Sunday read & then pray using this week’s Transformation Scripture:  Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.  Mt. 5:9  - (References- Proverbs 12:20, Romans 14:19 & John 14:27)

Thursday - As you prepare for this Sunday’s message please read Luke 12:49-59. What main truths do you see in the passage? Did you know that the Lord came to cause division or does this surprise you? Does your following Christ ever cause “division” with anyone else - why or why not?

Friday - Preparing for this Sunday please discuss & pray the following: Rom. 12:18 - If possible, so far as it depends on you, be at peace with all men.

  1. What are some reasons some people not allow us to be at peace with them?
  2. Why was Jesus not at peace with everyone & how does this impact your understanding of how far to go to “make peace” with others?

Saturday- Preparing for this Sunday - Pray for those who are struggling with family members & others because of Christ. Pray for the persecuted church to have joy & perseverance in their witness or preaching Christ and not their own ideas in the midst of trials & death. (2 Corinthians 4:5-12)

Matthew 10:34 - "Do not think that I came to bring peace on the earth; I did not come to bring peace, but a sword.
