The Sign of Jonah

Luke 11:20-36

I. God’s people are fully graced & it shows by knowing Christ & follow His   teachings. 

John 10:24-30 - The Jews then gathered around Him, & were saying to Him, "How long will
You keep us in suspense? If You are the Christ, tell us plainly."  Jesus answered them, "I told you, &
you do not believe; the works that I do in My Father's name, these testify of Me. But you do not believe because you are not of My sheep. My sheep hear My voice, & I know them, & they follow Me; & I give eternal life to them, & they will never perish; & no one will snatch them out of My
hand. My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; & no one is able to snatch them out of the Father's hand. I & the Father are one."

II. The “Sign of Jonah” demonstrates His Identity, Uniqueness & Purpose.

1 Kings 10:7-9 -“You exceed in wisdom and prosperity the report which I heard. How blessed …are
these your servants who stand before you continually and hear your wisdom.  Blessed be the Lord your God who delighted in you to set you on the throne of Israel; because the Lord loved Israel forever, therefore He made you king, to do justice and righteousness."         

Psalm 5:5 – You (God) hate evil-doers.

Romans 6:23 - For the wages of sin is death…

Hebrews 2:17 -Therefore,He (Jesus) had to be made like His brethren in all things, so that He might become a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make
propitiation for the sins of the people.

III. Salvation in Christ brings a distinct & real transformation.

2 Corinthians 4:6 - For God, who said, "Light shall shine out of darkness," is the One who
has shone in our hearts to give the Light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ.
