FAMILY FAITH SHEET

This week’s Transformation Scripture: …store up for yourselves treasures in heaven… Matt. 6:20 (NASB)  (CR- Prov. 10:22, 13:7, and Eph 1:18)

 Monday – 8-13-12 - Reflecting on yesterday

  1. Read Luke 14:15-24 and discuss Sunday’s message with someone.
  2. What were the Jewish people looking toward in vs. 15? How often do you think or talk about the coming Banquet with Christ?
  3. How do the excuses reveal what is in our own heart-see vs.18-20?
  4. Was the Master justified in His anger? Why or why not?

Tuesday- 8-14-12 -Reflecting on this past Sunday

  1. Read again Luke 14:15-24. In what ways is living in God’s Kingdom like a banquet?
  2. Which of the quests do you identify with and why?
  3. Do you see yourself as an inviting servant who is asking people to come to the King? In what ways do you need to grow in this area?

Wednesday – 8-15-12 - Reflecting on this Past Sunday

  1. Read Isaiah 25:1-9. Write out what God had promised Israel (and those grafted into Christ).    How can knowing these truths affect us in today’s uncertain world?

Thursday, Aug 16, 2012 – Preparing for this upcoming Sunday

  1. Read Luke 14:15-22. Banquets were for celebrating, communion with family and friends and for reconciliation. Why are all three components important to the Christian life?
  2. Why do you think Jesus was so specific in naming the afflicted that were to be summoned to this banquet in verse 21? How do they represent us spiritually before we come to Christ?

Friday, Aug 17, 2012 – Preparing ourselves for this Sunday

  1. Read Esther 2:8, SOS 2:4 and Eph. 2:1-7. What did the earthly kings want the people to experience and what will the King of Kings make sure we experience in Eph.2:7? How might this affect our daily lives?

Saturday, Aug 18, 2012 – Preparing for tomorrow

  1. Read Psalm 51:1-12 and pray for reconciliation, healing or for more joy in your & other’s salvation.
  2. Tomorrow we will hear an amazing testimony of reconciliation and grace. Pray for God to work to the fullest in our lives and then through us to others.
