Praying Boldly For Others
Luke 6:12-17
This Man, delivered over by the predetermined plan and foreknowledge of God, you nailed to a cross by the hands of godless men and put Him to death. Acts 2:23
"You did not choose Me but I chose you, and appointed you that you would go and bear fruit, and that your fruit would remain, so that whatever you ask of the Father in My name He may give to you. John 15:16
- What is intercessory prayer?
Intercessory prayer is praying God-led prayers on behalf of others.
- Who are we to pray for regularly?
- 1. Those in authority
(Pray) for kings and all who are in authority, so that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity. 1 Timothy 2:2
2. Ministers of the Gospel
Brethren, pray for us that the word of the Lord will spread rapidly and be glorified, just as it did also with you. 2 Thessalonians 3:1
3. God’s people
For this reason also, since the day we heard of it, we have not ceased to pray for you and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding. Colossians 1:9 (
4. The lost
Brethren, my heart's desire and my prayer to God for them is for their salvation. Romans 10:1
5. The sick
Is anyone among you sick? Then he must call for the elders of the church and they are to pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. James 5:14
6. Our enemies
"But I say to you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you. Matthew 5:44
7. All people
I urge that … prayers, petitions and thanksgivings, be made on behalf of all men. 1 Timothy 2:1
What does intercessory prayer look like?
1. Sometimes God will give specifics.
2. Sometimes we are to pray Scripture.

- They would know God’s will & Eternal Purpose. 8-13
- They would experience God’s Power in their inner man. 14-16
- They would enjoy His continual Presence & Love. 16-19
- They would forever Praise Him & live for His glory. 20- 21
This is the confidence (boldness) which we have before Him, that, if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests which we have asked from Him. 1 John 5:14-15
