The Great Commission
Luke 24:44-49

1. Based on Scripture

John 8:31-32 …“If you continue in My word, then you are truly disciples of Mine; and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free.”

1 Corinthians 1:17 – For Christ did not send me to baptize, but to preach the gospel, not in cleverness of speech, so that the cross of Christ would be made void.

2. Centers on Christ

Colossians 3:4 When Christ, who is our life, is revealed, then you also will be revealed with Him in glory.

3. Depends upon the Spirit

Acts 1:8 …”you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses…”

4. Involves praying for repentance and faith

2 Timothy 2:25 …with gentleness correcting those who are in opposition, if perhaps God may grant them repentance leading to the knowledge of the truth…

5. Looks for obedience and multiplying

John 14:15 “If you love Me, you will keep My commandments.”
